Week 5 Recap: Our 1st week of byes has passed, and who did you still pass on and keep benched? Did my benches deserve their benching? Let’s see. First off, at QB, I said to sit Tua and Trevor. Tua ended up with 256 yards passing and 3 TDs. I was wrong to sit him. Lawrence ended up with 221 yards passing, 54 yards rushing, 3 TDs, and 2 TOs. I was wrong to sit him too. At RB, I said to sit Chase Brown and Jordan Mason. Brown ended up with 27 yards rushing, 21 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was right to sit him. Mason got 52 yards rushing, a TD, and lost a fumble. With the TO kind of even, so let’s call it a push. At wide out, I said to sit Devonta Smith and Travis Hunter. Smith got 114 yards receiving and nothing else. I was wrong to sit him. Hunter, meanwhile, got 64 yards receiving, 2 tackles, and a pass defended. If you play IDP, I was wrong, but for those who do not, I was right. Collectively for me, a push then. For the tight ends, I said to sit Mark Andrews and Hunter Henry. Andrews got 22 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was right to sit him. Henry ended up with 46 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was right to sit him too. For the team defenses, I said to sit the Browns and the Buccaneers. The Browns lost, gave up 21 points, along with 3 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries. Not good enough; I was right to sit them. The Buccaneers won, gave up 35 points, along with a fumble recovery and a pick. Not enough extras so I was right to sit them too. Alright, now that that is done, let’s head to week 6.
QB:
Kyler Murray – He is banged up and questionable as of this post. Let’s assume he play. So, since his wheels will limit his mobility, this will lessen his stats. Take that, and the fact he faces a top 10 pass D, means no thank you.
Justin Fields – He has had 2 good games in a row, but they were against bad pass Ds. This one is against a D that is not that. Don’t do it.
RB:
Derrick Henry – Did you see what happened last week sans-Jackson? Well, take that and add the fact he plays the #1 rush D in the Rams, and we might have a repeat performance. Better hope for a cheap 1 yard touchdown if you insist.
Jaylen Warren – A week from missing a game due to injury combined with the fact your backup looked better than you along with a note that he faces a top 3 rush D in Cleveland equals no thanks.
WR:
Jameson Williams – Hard to trust somebody not getting the targets and facing a top 5 passing D in the Chiefs. You should have a better option than this.
Tee Higgins – Not sure what Flacco will come in and do with the Cincy receivers, but it’s hard to roll the dice and think Higgins is worth the risk of producing. Let’s give it a week or two.
TE:
Sam LaPorta – I know he just had a good game, but his inconsistency along with a matchup against a top 5 pass D against the position equals no no no.
Dalton Kincaid – He has been consistent, so his match up will be quality vs quality, and I pick the Atlanta D, who is #1 against the position so far this year,
D:
Browns – They just lost to Minnesota who lost to Pittsburgh the week before. Therefore, the transitive property tells us they have to lose to Pittsburgh this week. They have to, and if they don’t, then how can we trust math ever again?
Chiefs – A solid D, but not solid enough to be confident to start against and shut down the high powered Lions offense.
