Week 6 recap: We are ⅓ of the way done with the regular season. Are your starters ⅓ already or fully done by now? Anyway, let’s see how my starter recommendations for last week did. At QB, I said to start Bo Nix and Bryce Young. Nix got only 174 yards passing, 24 yards rushing, and a TD. Not good enough; I was wrong to start him. Young, meanwhile, ended up with 199 yards passing, 3 TDs, and a pick. I was right to start him. At RB, I said to start Tony Pollard and Croskey-Merritt. Pollard got 34 yards rushing, 13 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was wrong to start him. Croskey-Merritt, meanwhile, ended up with 61 yards rushing, 7 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was wrong to start him too. At wide out, I said to start Calvin Ridley and Xavier Worthy. Ridley got only 18 yards receiving and nothing else so I was wrong to start him. Worthy ended up with only 20 yards receiving, but he got a TD. Close, so let’s call it a push. At tight end, I said to start Jake Ferguson and David Njoku. Fergie got 33 yards receiving and a TD so I was right to start him. Njoku ended up getting injured in his game and only got 28 yards receiving and nothing else beforehand, so I was wrong to start him. For the team defenses, I said to start the Chargers and the Packers. The Chargers won, gave up 27 points, along with 2 sacks and 3 picks. I was right to start them. The Packers also won, gave up 18 points, along with only 1 sack as an extra. Still good enough to say I was right to start them. Alright, let’s jump right into lucky number 7.
QB:
Caleb Williams – He has only been under projections once so far this year. Trust it will not happen a 2nd time as he faces a bottom 5 Saints pass D.
C. J. Stroud – He is coming off a good game on the road after his bye back to another game on the road this time against the Seahawks whose pass D has been susceptible. Potential is here to duplicate what he did a few weeks ago.
RB:
Jordan Mason – He faces an Eagles rush D that is not your father’s Eagles rush D. This one gives up rushing TDs. Expect more of that from Mason.
Jacory Croskey-Merritt – He dropped the ball, pun intended, on us last week. Good thing he has a bottom feeder rush D in Dallas this week in order to quickly redeem himself. And redeem himself he will.
WR:
Jaylen Waddle – He has been solid post Tyreek, and this week he faces a Browns D that is better against the run than the pass.
Chris Olave – Volume. Volume. Volume. He will get the targets and the catches, but can he get the yards and a TD? Chances are good this week against a bottom 5 pass D in the Bears.
TE:
Mason Taylor – I know he has Justin Fields throwing him the ball, but he faces a Cardinals pass D that is bottom 3 in the league against the position.
Dalton Schultz – He is getting the targets, and he faces a bottom 10 pass D in Seattle against the position. Worth the risk. Maybe even his first TD of the year.
D:
Browns – So, this week I will put the Browns in the start column. Coming off a loss at home, I say they put it together to do enough to beat the Dolphins.
Bears – A home matchup against a lowly team like the Saints whose QB likes to commit turnovers, the Bears specialty. Bears D is matchup dependent, and this one you can depend on.
