Week 7 recap: Week 7. Was it lucky or unlucky? Has this past week turned your season around? Let’s see how it did for me. First off, at QB, I said to start Caleb Williams and C. J. Stroud. Williams ended up with 172 yards passing and a pick as this was a RB show. I was wrong to start him. Stroud, meanwhile, got 229 yards passing, 25 yards rushing, a TD, and a pick. I was wrong to start him too. At RB, I said to start Jordan Mason and Croskey-Merritt. Mason got 57 yards rushing and a TD so I was right to start him. Croskey-Merritt, however, got only 33 yards rushing and nothing else, so I was wrong to start him. At WR, I said to start Jaylen Waddle and Chris Olave. Waddle got only 1 catch for 15 yards and nothing else, so I was very wrong to start him. Olave, meanwhile, got 98 yards passing and 2 TDs, so I was quite right to start him. At tight end, I said to start Mason Taylor and Dalton Schultz. Taylor got 31 yards receiving and nothing else; I was wrong to start him. While Schultz did not score, he did get 98 yards receiving so I was right to start him. For the team defenses, I said to start the Browns and the Bears. The Browns won, gave up only 6 points, along with a fumble recovery, 4 sacks, 3 picks, and a defensive score. I was right to start them. The Bears also won, gave up only 14 points, along with a fumble recovery, 4 sacks, and 3 picks. I was quite right to start them too.
QB:
Spencer Rattler – It is mega bye week, so if you are searching, take a chance on Rattler. He has seen an uptick in yards recently, and he faces a Bucs team that will give him some opportunities.
Jordan Love – If you have not stuck with him to this point, put him back in this week against Pittsburgh. Did you see what Flacco just did to them? The yards will be there, and maybe a score or three.
RB:
Rico Dowdle/Chuba Hubbard – If you have either 1 of these guys, be confident your guy will be the one to produce against a Bills D that has given up the 2nd most fantasy points to RBs so far this year.
J. K. Dobbins – He has been a high floor, low ceiling kind of guy, but this week against a porous Dallas rush D, he could knock down that low ceiling.
WR:
Zay Flowers – Coming off a bye week with Lamar Jackson most likely back too versus a bottom 5 Chicago pass D equals, let’s roll with him and give him a chance.
Rome Odunze – With a banged up Moore, and a susceptible Ravens pass D, he should have some opportunities to do some damage in this game too.
TE:
Tucker Kraft – He has been getting the targets recently, and this week he faces a bottom 3 pass D against tight ends in Pittsburgh. He’s a go.
Cade Otton – With a depleted Tampa wide receiver corp and a beatable Saints pass D, Mayfield could/should rely on him more this week.
D:
Bengals – After the way they played in Pittsburgh, I believe they can do the same at home against a winless Jets team. No way the Jets steal their first victory in Cincy. No way.
Ravens – Let’s keep it in the AFC North and go to Baltimore, whose D has not been good. This week, however, they face a beatable Bears team at their home stadium and will be coming off a bye week. They have to win this one. Starting 1 and 6 is not something many can recover from.
