Week 9 recap: We are halfway done with the season, but are we halfway done or already all the way done with our fantasy team and my picks? Let’s see. First off, at QB, I said to sit C. J. Stroud and Matt Stafford. Stroud ended up getting hurt, but before he did, he had 79 yards passing, 12 yards rushing, and nothing else. I was right to sit him. Stafford, however, had 281 yards passing and 4 TDs; I was wrong they would not need/use him in the second half. At RB, I said to sit Jaylen Warren and both Dowdle and Hubbard. Warren ended up with 31 yards rushing and nothing else. I was right to sit him. In their game, if you had Dowdle, I was wrong to sit him as he gathered 130 yards rushing, 11 yards receiving, and 2 scores, but if you had Hubbard, I was right to sit him as he had only 17 yards rushing and nothing else. Collectively, a push for me. At wide out, I said to sit Romeo Doubs and Courtland Sutton. Doubs had 91 yards receiving and nothing else. Close, so let’s call this one a push. Sutton ended up with only 1 catch, but it happened to be for 30 yards and it was a TD, thereby making me wrong to sit him. At tight end, I said to sit Hunter Henry and Evan Engram. Henry ended up with 51 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was right to sit him. Engram, meanwhile, gathered in a whopping zero catches, so I was right to sit him too. For the team defenses, I said to sit the Texans and the Chiefs. The Texans lost, gave up 18 points, along with a fumble recovery, a sack, and a pick. Not good enough; I was right to sit them. The Chiefs also lost, gave up 28 points, along with 3 sacks. I was right to sit them too.

QB:

Daniel Jones – He is in line for 2 tough weeks in a row as he now faces a Falcons pass D that is statistically better than what he just faced in Pittsburgh. Atlanta is #1 in the league in least passing yards allowed. Ouch.

Trevor Lawrence – He was bad the 1st time out against Houston this year, and this 2nd time will be no different. Houston ranks #1 overall against the pass so far. Not worth the risk.

RB:

Saquon Barkley – Do you dare? He dares. He dares. He has had a few snoozers, and this week he faces a top 5 rush D in the Pack. Now is the time, if you have a verifiable sub for him.

Breece Hall – Instead of going from 0 to 60, he will be going from 60 (last week) to 0 (this week) as he moves from playing the worst rush D to a top 3 rush D in Cleveland.

WR:

Jerry Jeudy – Are you still starting him? Stop it. Just stop it. Take his QB play along with his receiver preference and combine that with a matchup against a still formidable Jets D equals nope.

Chris Olave – With the fear of Shaheed now gone and a matchup against a top 3 pass D in Carolina, he will struggle this week. Not worth the risk.

TE:

T. J. Hockenson – He is just not getting the love this year, and this week should be no different against a Ravens team better than not against the position. There are better options.

Luke Musgrave – Don’t think he will do what Kraft did. Maybe against some teams, but not against the 2nd ranked D against tight ends in the Eagles.

D:

Steelers – Not buying it. They will not be able to do as well against the Chargers whose passing offense is a step better than the Colts. A Sunday night loss on national television for Tomlin and the Steelless Curtain.

49ers – I just don’t trust this team, but maybe they will pull out another. I think the Rams take a road win. Either way, too much of a toss up to risk it. Bench them; there are better options out there.
