Week 12 recap: We are ⅔ of the way done. Are you on your way to championship glory, or more like championship glory hole? Let’s see how crappy my picks were. First off, at QB, I said to start Jared Goff and Bryce Young. In his game, Goff had 279 yards passing, 2 TDs, and a pick. Just enough to make me right to start him. Young, meanwhile, had 169 yards passing, 15 yards rushing, 1 TD, and 2 picks. Nope, I was wrong to start him. For the RBs, I said to start TreVeyon Henderson and Alvin Kamara. Henderson got 66 yards rushing and 15 yards receiving. I was wrong to start him. Kamara, however, had only 11 yards rushing and 4 yards receiving before getting hurt, so I was wrong to start him too. For the wide outs, I said to start Zay Flowers and Michael Wilson. Flowers ended up with 11 yards rushing, 58 yards receiving, and no TDs. I was wrong to start him. Wilson, meanwhile, gathered in 118 yards receiving and nothing else. I was right to start him. For the tight ends, I said to start Hunter Henry and Coleston Loveland. Henry had 115 yards receiving and a TD, so I was right to start him. Loveland also scored, along with 49 yards receiving, thereby making me right to start him too. On the team defenses, I said to start the Lions and the Browns. The Lions won, gave up 27 points, along with a sack and a pick. Just enough to make me right to start them. The Browns also won, held the Raiders to 10 points, along with 10 sacks and a fumble recovery, so I was right to start them too.
QB:
Jacoby Brissett – Ride the train. He is still producing, and this week he has a bottom 10 pass D in Tampa to contend with. Don’t be scared.
Bo Nix – He has been high and low this year, and against a bad defense, like bottom 5 bad pass D in Washington, he has been, and could be, high this week. Take the risk.
RB:
TreVeyon Henderson – I was wrong to start him last week against the worst rush D in the league, but I can’t be wrong to start him against the 2nd worse rush D in the league this week too. Right?
R. J. Harvey – He has not done much since taking over as lead back after Dobbins injury, but he is finally facing a poor rush D in Washington. Since they are a bottom 10 rush D, it is a good matchup. Roll on.
WR:
Khalil Shakir – He is the new #1 for Josh Allen and the Bills, and this week he faces a beatable, bottom 10 Steelers D against the pass. Worth the risk if you need a sub.
Troy Franklin – He is also now his team’s #1 wide receiver, and he will be facing a bottom 5 pass D in the league in Washington this week. He is also worth the risk to start if a sub is needed.
TE:
Juwan Johnson – He is the #2 receiver on the team, and if Olave ends up not playing, he will be the de facto #1. That, plus a matchup against a bottom 5 Miami pass D against the position, spells Y-E-S.
Dalton Schultz – Put him back in your lineup against a bottom 10 pass D against tight ends in the Colts. A good matchup here.
D:
Dolphins – A match up dependent D to play, and this week they have a good matchup against a Saints team that stalls and commits turnovers.
49ers – They might be getting their groove back with Stella, and a road game to steal is very likely against a Browns team that is limited on offense. As long as they can keep Myles Garrett away from Purdy, they will do enough to pull out the road W.
