Week 12 recap: We are ⅔ of the way done. Are you finally and officially mathematically eliminated? Almost? Me too. Let’s see if my sitters were eliminated too. First off, at QB, I said to sit Dak Prescott and Daniel Jones. In his game, Jones ended up with 181 yards passing, 16 yards rushing, and 2 TDs. Just enough to make me wrong to sit him. Meanwhile, Prescott had 354 yards passing, 9 yards rushing, 3 TDs, and a pick. I was wrong to sit him too. For the RBs, I said to sit Tyrone Tracy, Jr. and Ashton Jeanty. In his game, Tracy ended up with 62 yards rushing and 68 yards receiving. Good enough; I was wrong to sit him. Meanwhile, Jeanty had 50 yards rushing, 58 yards receiving, and a TD. Another being wrong to sit someone in the column for me. For the wide outs, I said to sit Alec Pierce and Jauan Jennings. Pierce had only 1 catch for 26 yards and nothing else. Finally, I was right to sit someone. Jennings ended up with only 41 yards receiving, but he got a TD so I am back in the being wrong column. For the ends that are tight, I said to sit Juwan Johnson and David Njoku. In his game, Johnson had 46 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was right to sit him, while Njoku had 0 catches for 0 yards, thereby making me right to sit him too. And for the team defenses, I said to sit the Jaguars and the Colts. The Jags won, held the Cards to 24 points, along with 6 sacks. I was wrong to sit them. The Colts, however, lost, gave up 23 points, along with 4 sacks, a pick, and a fumble recovery. The extras make it close, but no, I was right to sit them too.
QB:
Daniel Jones – Let’s try him again. So, unless you have no other options, let’s bench him again this week since he faces the #1 pass D in the league in the Texans.
Aaron Rodgers – Coming off an injury and facing a Bills D that is much much better against the pass than the run, top 5 better, I say sit A – A – ron.
RB:
Rico Dowdle – He has been a bit below average these last 2 weeks, and this week will be even tougher as he faces a Rams D that is currently #1 against the rush. Nope.
Aaron Jones, Sr. – He has to split with Jordan Mason. He has a rookie QB leading his team this week. Also this week, he faces a Seahawks rush D that is tops in the league in lowest yards per carry. Another big ole nope.
WR:
Davante Adams – The Rams face a top 5 pass D in Carolina this week. So, someone has to suffer, and I say the Rams will get Nacua his due, which means Adams will be left out.
Terry McLaurin – He still has some cobwebs coming off his injury, and he faces the #1 pass D in the league in the Broncos this week. Not worth the risk with this abysmal matchup.
TE:
Steelers TEs – Bench all of them. Who knows which one may or may not get some action. Plus, they face a Bills pass D that is currently #1 against the position in the league. No thanks.
Brenton Strange – Don’t buy his almost 100 yard game last week, for that was against a bottom 10 pass D against tight ends. This week, he faces a team that is top 10 against the position. Back to the bench.
D:
Steelers – The Steelers D is good, but their offense is sporadic, and against a Bills team that can score and keep the ball, the Steelers D will end up getting tired and breaking. There should be better options out here.
Texans – A good defense with a sporadic offense here too, who is also facing a team with a capable offense that can sustain drives and wear their D down. If you have a better option, consider it for this week might be a Colts victory over the Texans.
