Alright, Week 1 is done and we have an inkling where some of our stars may lie. Let’s see if our sitters told the truth or lied. At QB, I said to sit Justin Fields and Caleb Williams. Fields ended up with 218 yards passing, 48 yards rushing, along with 3 TDs. I was wrong to sit him. Williams had 210 yards passing, 58 yards rushing, and 2 TDs. I was wrong to sit him too. At RB, I said to sit the Texans RBs and James Cook. Houston’s best back was Chubb who ended up with 60 yards rushing and nothing else. I was right to sit them all. While Cook only had 44 yards rushing, he also got 58 yards receiving along with a TD. I was wrong to sit him. At wide out, I said to sit Calvin Ridley and D. K. Metcalf. Ridley had 27 yards receiving and nothing else. I was right to sit him. Metcalf ended up with 83 yards receiving and nothing else too. I was also right to sit him. For the tight ends, I said to sit Tucker Kraft and the Steelers TEs. Kraft ended up with only 16 yards receiving, but he got a TD. Ugh, I was wrong to sit him. In Pittsburgh, the Muth got 28 yards with nothing else, while Smith got only 15 yards, but he had a TD. A push here. For the team defenses, I said to sit the Browns and the Texans. The Browns lost, gave up only 17 points, along with 3 sacks. The extras make this a push. The Texans also lost, gave up only 14 points, along with 3 sacks and a fumble recovery. A little better, so I was wrong to sit them. Not my best, not my worst (see Week 1 start results). Let’s see what we think about Week 2.
QB:
Bo Nix: Not good numbers in his 1st game, and now game 2 pitts him against a Colts D that played well last week. They are probably better than last year, but maybe not as good as they were against the Dolphins, but better enough to nix Nix this week.
Tua Tagovailoa: I don’t care he plays a Pats D that was whipped in game 1. He needs to prove something and prove it for more than 1 week. I just don’t trust him.
RB:
Jaylen Warren: Speaking of trust, it’s hard to give that to him either. I believe he will get the first shot, at least for now, at the beginning of each game to prove something, then when he doesn’t, and the others get chances, Tomlin will go with the hot hand. I have trust issues.
Isiah Pacheco: Until he proves, or Hunt belly flops on goal line situations, he just doesn’t get, or do enough between the 20s to make it worth our while.
WR:
Zay Flowers: Back to life. Back to reality. Back to being a sub-par receiver, the real you. An above-average, at best, pass catcher.
Michael Pittman: Not quite the reality check like for Flowers, but maybe just for this week against a very good Denver D.
TE:
T. J. Hockenson: He didn’t play out as a security blanket last week as I thought. That, plus his match up against a Tampa D that held down the position last week makes me not consider him this week.
Mike Gesicki: Already looking for scraps with their weapons on offense, and they added Noah Fant to steal some tight end action this year. No thanks.
D:
Browns: Good D, but they will start off 0-2 after losing to Cincy last week at home, and now this week against Baltimore on the road.
Bears: Another pretty good D, well at least they were for 3 quarters last week, that will go 0-2. They face a Lions team on the road who also need their first win. Sorry Caleb.
