Week 5 Recap: Our 1st bye week has come and gone. Did you have all your starters still available to start? If not, did I lead you to the right sub-train? Let’s see. First off, at QB, I said to start Justin Fields and C. J. Stroud. Fields ended up with 283 yards passing, 26 yards rushing, and 2 TDs. I was right to start him. Stroud got 244 yards passing, 30 yards rushing, and 4 TDs. I was right to start him too. At RB, I said to start Breece Hall and Cam Skattebo. Hall ended up with 113 yards rushing, 42 yards receiving, and lost a fumble. Still good enough to make me right. Skattebo, however, got 59 yards rushing, 45 yards receiving, and lost a fumble. I was wrong to start him. At wide out, I said to start Chris Olave and Jameson Williams. Olave got 59 yards receiving and nothing else, while Williams got only 9 yards receiving and also nothing else. I was wrong to start both of them. At tight end, I said to start Darren Waller and Theo Johnson. Waller got 78 yards receiving and a TD, thereby making me right to start him. Johson got only 33 yards receiving, but he did get 2 TDs so I was right to start him too. For the team defenses, I said to start the Cardinals and the Saints. Well, the Cardinals blew it and lost, gave up 22 points, along with 2 sacks, a fumble recovery, and a pick. The extras make this close, so let’s call this one a push. The Saints did win their first game as projected, held the Giants to 14 points, along with 3 fumble recoveries, a sack, 2 picks, and a defensive touchdown. I was right to start them. That was week 5, let’s see what week 6 has in store for us.

QB:

Bo Nix – He has a good game and then not a good one. So, he’s due this week for a good one, plus he faces a bottom 5 pass D in the Jets. The signs are there.

Bryce Young – Not really anyone to start, but if you are gonna start him at all this season, this has to be it as he faces the worst pass D in the league in Dallas. Why not? Give it a go.

RB:

Jacorey Croskey-Merritt – He lit up the Charges last week, and he has a bottom 3 run D this week in Chicago. Can he duplicate? Maybe so. Or maybe so.

Tony Pollard – He finally faces a run D that is in the bottom 10 of the league. So, yeah it’s his best matchup so far. Have faith he will prevail.

WR:

Xavier Worthy – Not much since his return, but he has a juicy matchup against a Lions D that is bottom 3 in the league against receivers so far this season.

Calvin Ridley – He had a good game last week, and this week he could/should get another 100 yard game as he faces a Vegas team that has given up the 3rd most yards to WRs so far this season.

TE:

Jake Ferguson – Is he a regular starter for you? He should be; look at his stats. Consistency, plus a matchup versus a bottom 3 D against the position equals play him.

David Njoku – He had a good game last week, maybe this QB likes him better. Add that to a Steelers D that is, and has been, susceptible to the position/him equals a good matchup.

D:

Chargers – Their D is good, just off a little bit this past week. I say they recover and take one going east to Miami.

Packers – They have waivered a little recently, but I have confidence they will shine coming off a bye week at home against a Bengals offense that is still to be desired sans-Burrow with the ageless wonder Flacco.
