Recap from Week 7: Well, the Icy Hot Bowl did not disappoint, ending with a bang with Pittsburgh’s D not acting like who we thought they might be based upon the last couple of weeks. They definitely looked like the Steelers D from the beginning of the year. It also looked like Flacco might just fit right in in Cincy. Almost as if he belongs in the AFC North. In this game, I said to bench Chase Brown. He had his best game of the year rushing for 108 yards. So, even with no scores, I was wrong to sit him. I then said to start his counterpart in Pittsburgh, Jaylen Warren. Well, he ended up with 127 yards rushing, 31 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was right to start him. Finally, I said Noah Fant would be a good risky play. Well, he ended up with 44 yards receiving and a TD, so I was right to start him too.
Week 8 brings us our 1st non-divisional match up for our early edition Thursday night game, as we get two possible playoff teams in the Vikings taking on the Chargers in LA. In this game, let’s start McConkey. He’s got a similar skill set as Devonta Smith who just lit up the Vikings. Hopefully, he can do the same this week against the Vikings too. On the other side, the Chargers gave up about 6 ypc last week, so Jordan Mason will have some opportunities to break it open. Finally, the Vikings just held Saquon Barkley to about 2.5 ypc last week, so, unlike for Mason, the holes may not be there for Kimani Vidal. Not worth the risk. Good luck.
