Week 7 recap: So, is 7 a lucky or unlucky number for you? Did your sitters crap out as expected? Let’s see how mine did. First off, at QB, I said to sit Drake Maye and Sam Darnold. Maye ended up with 222 yards passing, 62 yards rushing, and 2 TDs. I was wrong to sit him. Darnold, however, got 213 yards passing, 1 TD, and 2 TOs. I was right to sit him. At running back, I said to sit Travis Etienne and Tony Pollard. Etienne got 44 yards rushing, 11 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was right to sit him. Pollard had only 18 yards rushing, 43 yards receiving, and also nothing else. I was right to sit him too. At wide out, I said to sit A. J. Brown and Wan’Dale Robinson. Brown showed me with his 121 yards receiving and 2 TDs, thereby making me wrong to sit him. Robinson, however, got 95 yards receiving and nothing else. Close, so let’s call this one a push. At tight end, I said to sit Theo Johnson and T. J. Hockenson. Johnson ended up with 66 yards receiving and a TD so I was wrong to sit him. The Hock did not put it to me with only 43 yards receiving and nothing else. I was right to sit him. For the team defenses, I said to sit the Commanders and the Buccaneers. The Commanders lost, gave up 44 points, along with 1 sack and nothing else. I was right to sit them. The Bucs also lost, gave up 24 points, along with a fumble recovery, 4 sacks, and a pick. Not good enough; I was right to sit them too.
QB:
Daniel Jones – He won’t be bad, but he won’t be as good as he is currently being projected. When you have Taylor at RB and a Titans D that is top 10 against the pass, you don’t bite.
Drake Maye – He will be facing his toughest challenge so far in a top 5 pass D in the league in the Browns. Lower numbers are expected.
RB:
Rhamondre Stevenson – Mr. Boom or Bust. Be confident he will be a bust against a top 3 rush D in Cleveland this week.
Jaylen Warren – Don’t buy last week’s news. He is match up dependent and the results will not carry forward. And this week, don’t depend on him against a top 3 rush D in Green Bay.
WR:
Deebo Samuel – No Jayden Daniels and a game against a top 3 pass D in Kansas City equals bye Felicia.
Bills WRs – There is no stand out WR on this team. Take that, along with the fact they face a top 3 pass D in Carolina, I have no confidence any one of them will be an obvious shining star.
TE:
Theo Johnson – Good bad. Good bad. This week he has a top 5 pass D against tight ends in Philly. Time for a bad week.
Zach Ertz – He will be without Daniels, and he faces a Chiefs D tough against tight ends. The signs are there to sit him.
D:
Browns – I was right starting them last week, and this week they are back in the sit column. They face a New England team on the road. Close, but no cigar as they say. They say that. They do.
Steelers – Let’s keep it in the AFC North. After losing bad to Flacco, my confidence in the Steelers D is much less than my confidence in Jordan Love and the Green Bay offense. Love can do the same, and usually more of what Flacco did. It’s a home loss on a Sunday night for Tomlin. Yikes!
