Week 8 recap: It was mega bye week, and we had to search our souls for some help. Did we get the help to win? Let’s see how I did. First off, at QB, I said to start Spencer Rattler and Jordan Love. In his game, Rattler ended up being benched, accumulating only 136 yards passing, 12 yards rushing, and 2 turnovers before the benching. Me and the Saints were both wrong to start him. Love, however, got 360 yards passing and 3 TDs so I was right to start him. At RB, I said to start Dowdle/Hubbard and Dobbins. In their game, Dowdle got 54 yards rushing and nothing else, while Hubbard got 34 yards rushing and a TD. So, for those who started Dowdle, I was wrong, but for those who started Hubbard, I was right. So, collectively, a push for me. Dobbins, meanwhile, got 111 yards rushing, 10 yards receiving, and nothing else. Just enough to say I was right to start him. At wide out, I said to start Zay Flowers and Rome Odunze. Flowers had 63 yards receiving, 8 yards rushing, and nothing else. I was wrong to start him. Odunze got 114 yards receiving and nothing else. I was right to start him. At tight end, I said to start Cade Otton and Tucker Kraft. Otton ended up with 40 yards receiving and nothing else; I was wrong to start him. Kraft, however, had the game of his life with 143 yards receiving and 2 TDs, thereby making me right to start him. For the team defenses, I said to start the Ravens and the Bengals. The Ravens won, held the Bears to 16 points, along with a sack and a pick. I was right to start them. The Bengals, however, blew it and lost, giving up 39 points, along with nothing else. I was wrong to start them.
QB:
Sam Darnold – After playing against a tough pass D and then a bye week, he gets a Commanders pass D that has given up the 3rd most fantasy points to QBs so far. Put him back in.
Trevor Lawrence – He has not been bad his last few games, and this week he gets a Raiders team that can get beat. Plus, the Raiders have gotten very few picks, so maybe, just maybe.
RB:
Kimani Vidal – Been boom or bust since taking over, and this week breeds him the opportunity for another boom week as he faces the 2nd worst rush D in Tennessee.
Kareem Hunt – Mr. TD dependent may get more than that this week as Kansas City will be missing Pacheco, and they will be facing a Bills D that is bottom 3 in rush D in the league.
WR:
Marvin Harrison, Jr. – On paper, this will probably be the worst pass D he will face this year in the Cowboys. So, the time to play him is now.
Nico Collins – Yes, he is facing a top 3 pass D in Denver, but they will be missing their #1 CB, so the defense will not be the same. Don’t be afraid.
TE:
Kyle Pitts – He faces a good Pats D, but they have given up the 3rd most fantasy points to tight ends so far. Good matchup.
A.J. Barner – He faces a bottom ranked pass D against tight ends in the Commanders. He should get some looks and good chances.
D:
Lions – This pick has little to do with the Lions D, and everything to do with the way Minnesota has been playing recently. A struggling team on the road against a solid offense equals nope.
Cowboys – A home game against an average offense at best. Even their crappy D should be good enough to show up, do enough, and let the offense win the game.
