  1. I wonder how the backfield will shake with the New York Giants.  Tyrone Tracy Jr. (RB-NYG) was a big whiff in Week 09 due to the presence of Devin Singletary (RB-NYG).  However, I would not just give up on Tracy Jr. just yet.  Yes, Singletary outperformed him in Week 09, but remember, this is the same Tracy Jr. who took over this backfield last season from Devin Singletary.  I don’t know why he can’t do that again.

  1. I wonder if/when Bucky Irving (RB-TB) or Ricky Pearsall (WR-SF) are going to ever return.  Seriously, I am struggling to understand how both players, who have not played since Week 4 and are going to miss Week 10, were not placed on the I.R. Both players should not be dropped, especially Irving.  The belief was Irving would return after Tampa Bay’s bye week in Week 09, but sadly, that is not happening.  All we can do is wait.  But, let us not overlook Pearsall, who saw 29 targets and had 327 receiving yards in less than 4 complete games—suffered the injury in the 3rd quarter of Week 04. Simply put, this has been frustrating for fantasy managers, particularly fantasy managers who roster both.

  1. There was good news that came out regarding Jayden Daniels (QB-Was) and his injury, as his elbow dislocation showed no ligament damage.  That is amazing, honestly, because that injury was fairly gruesome. However, it is uncertain if he will return this year, considering it looks like a lost season for Washington.  With that in mind, would not the coaching staff really want to take a good look at Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB-Was) down the stretch to see what they have? He has only seen over 50% of the snaps twice this season (Week 06—66% and Week 08—57%).  Game flow has played a role in this, but coaching has done him no favors, either—Kliff Kingsbury (OC) has frustrated fantasy managers in the past.  I am curious to see if anything changes in the backfield approach in Week 10 versus Detroit, as the Commanders are 8-point underdogs at home.  I am hoping “Bill” starts getting longer looks, including 3rd downs, but Chris Rodriguez Jr. (RB-Was) and Jeremy McNichols (RB-Was) could make this simply an unusable backfield for not only Week 10, but also for the rest of the season.

  1. Reacting to TNF’s Las Vegas-Denver matchup, my biggest takeaways involve the QBs for both teams.  The narrative with Bo Nix (QB-Den) is he is inconsistent until the 4th quarter, and there is some truth to that according to the data—his highest QBR (98.4) and YPA (6.8) are in the 4th quarter.  The issues is see here, however, is that it is concerning that his highest YPA (6.8) in a quarter is only 6.8.  He has a 6.1 YPA for the season.  For comparison, Justin Fields (NYJ) and Spencer Rattler (NO) both have higher YPA.  As for Geno Smith (LV), we will see if or how long he may miss due to injury from Week 10, but if he is able to suit up for Week 11, he will face the Dallas.  I still am not sure I would roll him as a starting option, though.

  1. The rumors of Breece Hall (RB-NYJ) being pursued by Kansas City seem to be true, with a 4th round draft pick being offered.  The Jets wanted a 3rd, and KC felt that was too hefty a price.  Honestly, a 4th round draft pick is a pretty hefty price for a rental running back, as KC would not be able to afford Hall come the offseason.  What KC offering a 4th tells me is that KC really does not see Brashard Smith (RB-KC) as a reliable weapon down the stretch.  I have been a Smith advocate, but this story causes me pause.  Smith could still earn a role, but between only getting 3 carries and 1 target in a game Isiah Pacheco (RB-KC) missed and KC offering a decent draft pick for a player who will only play about 9-12 games, I think I am going to jump off this wagon. As for the rest of this backfield, Kareem Hunt (RB-KC) has the most value for the remainder of the season, in my opinion.

  1. Teams coming off bye weeks often make some tweaks to their teams.  I am curious what tweaks Cleveland and New York made.  Could Dillon Gabriel (QB-Cle) stretch the field more so than what he has done so far?  Could that make Jerry Jeudy (WR-Cle) fantasy relevant, or maybe a returning Cedrick Tillman (WR-Cle)?  I am not sure, but I am interested to see if something has changed.

  1. As for the Jets, I would be surprised if Mason Taylor (TE-NYJ) is not heavily involved from this point forward.  How much this passing game contributes to fantasy football, however, is still up for debate.

  1. I am going to make a bold prediction for Week 10: Luke Musgrave (TE-GB) finishes as a top 6 TE for the week.  I think he is a step below Tucker Kraft (TE-GB), but I don’t think he is a slouch.  I also think this offense tends to focus on the TE.

  1. If you are looking for some deep league dart throws for this week, I wonder if I could interest you in Ray Davis (RB-Buf), Savion Williams (WR-GB), Isaac TeSlaa (WR-Det), or Devin Neal (RB-NO).

  1. And finally…, I wonder why dogs cannot operate MRI machines, but catscan.
